Time Card Calculator

Time card calculator results total exact punch minutes across a weekly or two- card. Enter complete clock-in and clock-out pairs, subtract only unpaid breaks you identify, and print or save the finished local record.

How to calculate a time card

Each complete punch pair becomes exact elapsed minutes, less only the unpaid break entered for that pair. The calculator totals pairs by and then totals the active one- or two- card.

Choose the period

Use the one- or two- setting that matches the rows you want included.

Complete each pair

Give every used punch pair both a clock-in and a clock-out reading.

Review breaks

Enter each unpaid duration once and leave already-excluded gaps alone.

Time card calculator example

  1. Each 09:00 to 17:00 punch pair spans 480 gross min.
  2. After the entered 30 min break, each is 450 net min, or 7 30 .
  3. Across five used , the engine totals 2,250 min, shown as 37 30 and 37.50 decimal hr.

Enter and validate punch pairs and unpaid breaks

Choose the active card period, then fill only the worked. A can contain one complete punch pair or an optional pair. Enter an unpaid break inside the pair it belongs to. A gap between two separate pairs is already excluded from elapsed work time, so do not deduct that gap again. A used pair with only a clock-in or only a clock-out cannot produce an elapsed duration. The calculator names the affected and field, blocks its daily subtotal, and withholds the card total. It never guesses the missing clock reading or carries forward a stale result.

Read exact minutes and decimal hours

The engine sums exact period minutes before formatting either answer. Hours and minutes show the duration in clock-style components. Decimal hours divide the same exact minute total by the number of minutes per hour and round only the displayed decimal to two places. The exact period-minute output remains available.

Handle overnight work, print the card, and know its limits

An end clock earlier than its start receives a visible next- marker and one midnight rollover. For example, 22:00 to 06:00 spans 480 gross min; after an entered 30 min break, the engine returns 450 net min, or 7 30 , with the overnight pair named in the result. After a valid result, use the browser print action to print the active rows and their daily and period totals or save them as a PDF. The print view includes an optional record label and overnight markers. It excludes inactive rows and does not claim to be an employer-approved payroll record. This page does not correct an employer record, classify break time, apply punch rounding, calculate wages, determine overtime, or decide compliance. For a shorter single-shift or weekly total, use the Work Hours Calculator. The Clockout Calculator solves a future departure time. The Decimal Hours Calculator converts a duration you already know.
